The Coalition believes that it is critical that our youth be empowered and supported to make positive decisions and see themselves as true problem solvers within the community. With this goal in mind, we have implemented a youth leadership program, 21st Century Youth Leadership. This program encourages teens to become actively involved in their community through service projects that they design and implement.

In addition to the youth programs, we feel that adults must work together to address some of the serious problems faced by our teens. The Coalition tracks 32 indicators of child-wellbeing for each parish in the region. Using this information, we work with other agencies, faith-based organizations and concerned citizens to develop strategies addressing these issues. This has resulted in the formation of a regional adult coalition to address high-risk and underage drinking, a serious concern for the youth of Northeast Louisiana and an underlying cause of many of the negative behaviors we seek to address.
