CHILD CARE CONNECTIONS​

The Children’s Coalition serves as the child care resource and referral agency for the northeast region of Louisiana—Region 9.  This program is funded by the Louisiana Department of Education.  Services are:
​

• To support child care providers to build knowledge and skills through training.
• To support child care teachers and leaders through targeted technical assistance and coaching.
• To provide families with information about all early care and education options through referral and Community Network coordinated enrollment activities.

Our referral specialists will ask you some basic information about your family and preferences, and will provide a list of referrals via email, regular mail or fax.

SCHOOL READINESS TAX CREDITS

As a child care resource and referral agency, the Children’s Coalition promotes the school readiness tax credits to support child care centers, providers, parents and resource and referral agencies. 

​By choosing a quality child care center, parents become eligible for up to 200% in school readiness tax credits. There are two ways to get a quality child care referral.

CONCERNS ABOUT A CHILD CARE CENTER?

If you have concerns about a licensed child care center or registered family child care home, please contact the Louisiana Department of Education's Licensing Division at [email protected] or by calling (225) 342-9905 or toll-free at 1-877-453-2721. You can use the same information to report a center that you suspect is operating without a license.

SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT

If you suspect that a caregiver or parent is committing child abuse or neglect, please contact the Department of Children and Family Services at 855-4LA-KIDS (855.452.5437) toll free 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
