The Family Resource Center for Northeast Louisiana serves families and parents at no cost in the following parishes: Bienville, Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union, and West Carroll. Although our primary purpose is to provide parent education, visit coaching and a safe environment for families and children receiving services through DCFS’ Child Protective Services, our ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive parenting education, resources and information.

PARENTING CLASSES
In all of our services, we incorporate an Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) seminar and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) concepts.
TRIPLE P | POSITIVE PARENTING PROGRAM
TRIPLE P SELECTED SEMINAR SERIES
An introduction to the strategies of positive parenting and Triple P. Parents attend any number of three 90-minute seminars: Power of Positive Parenting, Raising Confident Competent Children, and Raising Resilient Children.

NURTURING PARENTING PROGRAM (NPP)
NURTURING PARENTING
12 WEEKS NPP was developed, implemented, and validated throughout the state of Louisiana as an evidence-based program providing intense group and individual sessions to families receiving services from DCFS. Families will also receive individual support between the group sessions to ensure the knowledge and skills presented are being implemented in home.

NURTURING FATHERS PROGRAM
13 WEEKS NFP is an evidence - based course designed for fathers to teach and strengthen parenting and nurturing skills and enhance communication. Each session provides proven, effective skills for healthy family relationships and child development.

FAMILY LIFE SKILLS
These high-interest, group courses are designed to help you create a safe, healthy and financially stable home for your family. Topics may include but are not limited to: Financial Management, Child Development, Healthy Relationships, Time Management and Communication. Drop-ins are welcome.

ACEs TRAININGThis training will help you understand, recognize, and prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Participants will learn about risk and protective factors, outcomes associated with ACEs, and evidence-based strategies you can use to reduce or eliminate the impact of ACEs.

VISIT COACHING
Sessions are designed to help parents identify their children’s needs and how to meet these needs during visitation time with their child so that when the visits continue with DCFS they can be satisfying and nurturing to the parent and child. Only families receiving services through DCFS can be referred for Visit Coaching by their case manager.

HOW TO REFER FAMILIES
DCFS case managers can complete a referral form and submit to the FRC office via fax, email or mail. Our staff will follow up with parents and their DCFS case worker to secure consent forms and additional information for services. DCFS staff can also call our office directly and speak with staff regarding referrals or email frc@childrenscoaltion.org
