The Family Resource Center for Northeast Louisiana serves families and parents at no cost in the following parishes: Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union, and West Carroll. Although our primary purpose is to provide parent education, visit coaching and a safe environment for families and children receiving services through DCFS’ Child Protective Services, our ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive parenting education, resources and information.

KINSHIP NAVIGATOR PROGRAM
The Kinship Navigator Program addresses and coordinates the needs of families who are raising relative children.
Support of the families includes coordinating linkage to needed services, such as educational, financial, legal, behavioral health,
parenting skills and a wide range of other important services that will enhance the stability of the child in relative care.

HARDSHIP FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Hardship Financial Assistance Program provides financial support to those who are currently experiencing significant economic issues.
Qualifying individuals can receive funds to pay for rent or mortgage, utilities (electricity, water/sewage, natural gas), and other expenses that
are pending disconnection, cessation of services, or considered a necessity.

FAMILY LIFE SKILLSThese high-interest, group courses are designed to help you create a safe, healthy and financially stable home for your family. Topics may include but are not limited to: Financial Management, Child Development, Healthy Relationships, Time Management and Communication. Drop-ins are welcome.

ACEs TRAININGThis training will help you understand, recognize, and prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). Participants will learn about risk and protective factors, outcomes associated with ACEs, and evidence-based strategies you can use to reduce or eliminate the impact of ACEs.

HOW TO REFER FAMILIES:
DCFS case managers can complete a referral form and submit to the FRC office via fax, email or mail.
Our staff will follow up with parents and their DCFS case worker to secure consent forms and additional information for services.
